Nightingale’s Nursing
The seed for Nightingale’s Nursing and Attendants was first planted in the living room of our founder, Gloria Kasler, a Florence, South Carolina RN, sitting at her home computer generating ideas to improve the quality of care in SC homes.
By 2001, she had founded Nightingale’s, and accepted her first client in 2002. By the first month, Nightingale’s had admitted 35 clients and Gloria’s focus shifted to training more employees and administration, performing admissions and ensuring excellent customer service. She used her critical care and home health background to establish superior care plans with well-trained employees.
As Nightingale’s expanded to more and more counties, Gloria’s daughter, Brandy Strong, oversaw the service coordination and was the smiling voice behind many phone calls connecting the right clients to the right home care givers.
A second branch was opened just a few years later in Camden, and in 2007, Kasler’s youngest daughter, Babbette Yates joined the company and with her involvement opened an additional office in Charleston! Word of mouth on Nightingale’s high quality, affordable care meant we were well-received and would go on to accept about 35% of Charleston’s Long Term Care market within the first year.
In 2014, a Myrtle Beach office was added, and most recently an office in Greenville! As of 2019, Nightingale’s now is honored to serve 37 counties in the great state of South Carolina!
Over the years, Nightingale’s has worked hard to expand so we can provide the highest quality care to as many homes in South Carolina as we can muster. Our hundreds of aides and skilled private duty nurses, both RNs and LPNs, have increased our capacity to help clients with medically complex needs, and even pediatric populations across the state, so that babies can come home to their families from the hospital more quickly. With the advent of the transparency website established under the administration of Governor Sanford, we learned we had become the largest Community Long Term Care provider in SC!
We owe our continued growth to the goodwill of our clients, whose word of mouth we are honored to know has spread the word about Nightingale’s excellent health care and dedicated service. We’ve also dedicated hours of service to supplying the best nurses and aides to the families who need us in South Carolina. And at the forefront is always our concern for the welfare of others, trust in God, and wanting to be a positive influence on our communities and everyone we come in contact with.
